It’s weed and feed Friday in Carryduff, ahead of the much needed rain. Just hope it knows when to stop once it starts! #bbcniweather

A good day for catching up in the garden. The skies might be grey but at least there is no wind or rain - at the moment. ⁦@bbcniweather

Finally the sweet pea and cornflowers are blooming - delayed this year due to bad weather. Time to start making jam jar posies.

The day has started well. A batch of swallows have just fledged, just harvested my dinner veg and there will be strawberries for dessert. Even the wild flowers are finally starting to bloom. Hard to beat home grown!

Tomorrow is the first day of summer and the start of International Clothesline week (it really is - 1st-8th June). Hope we get the weather in Carryduff to enjoy both! ⁦@bbcniweather#weatherwatchers

Finally the wind and rain have stopped (at least for now) to give a beautiful sunset in Carryduff - and the swallows have arrived!

Today’s veg - Just picked these French Beans and have topped & tailed them ready for dinner this evening. Think I will roast them with a little Parmesan and then will drizzle with a wee drop of lemon juice just before serving, just for a change.
