1/ Pakistan's power infrastructure teeters on the precipice of disaster. One solution is to reduce electricity rates for the most affluent enterprises. Sounds odd, right? Yet, this is precisely the request some industrialists are pressing upon the government. 🧵
3/ To compound the situation, millions of the most economically forlorn consumers — those whom @GovtofPakistan vows to shield with its shoddy subsidy policies — were pilfered of subsidised rates and exposed to those applicable to regular consumers. Sadly, none of this is new.
