Summer vacation takes us many places. The #ruthschool became a Safari for a week during summer club as students learned about animals habitats! Thanks @UWRomania for helping to support our summer programs!
Summer break = sleeping in, snacks and lots of tv? Not for our students enrolled in our Healthy Lifestyles program who are busy this week learning new sports such as archery and American football while chowing down on healthy snacks and chugging lots of H2O! @UWRomania

Through our partnership with @UWRomania, more than 800 students will increase their abilities to be their healthiest selves and 300 will participate in diverse sport trainings. We started this week with Badminton classes for elementary girls in a village outside of Bucharest!
Did you know that a plastic bottle takes 450+ years to decompose? 600+ students at our partner school in rural Ilfov do! Thanks @UWRomania for great lessons on ecology and supporting these students in various ways though the year! #togetherwelearn #togetherwedomore
Windy, cool fall mornings walks to school were made much warmer for our Ruth School students with our fall distribution of clothing from our friends and supporters in the UK.
Having a dedicated space to focus is not a luxury that many of our students have at home as the average student shares a room with 3 family members. Our after-school program provides that “focus space” and support so students can get that homework done on-time and done well!
Non-formal activities help our minds imagine concepts in new, exciting ways that keep young minds engaged and active. Play-doh alphabet was a favorite at summer school for letter recognition and even handwriting skills. Thanks @UWRomania for your support to keep minds active!

More than 175 children take part in after-school programming each week. Often times a quiet place and a little encouragement makes a world of difference in a child’s academic endeavors! @UWRomania
The Rainbow Fish is a favorite at the Ruth School & in our 5 community centers! It is a fun, engaging story that provides ample opportunity for group discussions regarding bullying. The perfect book for Romania’s National Day of Reading! #Citimîmpreună @UWRomania
A schedule change meant double meals were made for afterschool on Monday in Padureni. For the first ever September, Ion opened his meal and ate at school because there were extras so he had another meal to take his siblings. Thanks @UWRomania for hot lunches for kids like Ion!
"I'm happy when..." This story telling prompt resulted a variety of answers - reading a new book - using school supplies - eating a hot lunch What makes YOU happy today? We are happy to be partnering with @UWRomania to transform lives in rural Giurgiu county.
Merry Christmas from Project Ruth staff, students and families! Special thanks to our holiday supporters for their contributions & gifts in kind which helped to make Christmas 2021 special for more than 900 children!
55 children and their families left the Community Centers in Jilava & Padureni with their arms full of winter clothes, gifts and holiday food. Thank you @UWRomania for your continued support and partnership as we seek to transform lives through education and involvement!
It has been a cheerful holiday season at the primary school in the 1 Decembrie community on the outskirts of Bucharest. 4th graders handcrafted Christmas ornaments while helping decorate their new tree for their school with volunteers from @UWRomania!
It's beginning to look like Christmas at the Ruth School! COVID-19 has suspended some of our annual traditions but we were happy to have some of our 8th graders stay after-school to help decorate!
Non-formal activities inspire creativity and critical thinking. 870+ children in rural & intercity communities have been challenged to think outside of the box through activities curated by our education specialist this fall. Thanks for helping make this possible @UWRomania!
