If railroad work is so important that the United States Congress can vote to prevent a strike, then railroad WORKERS should be important enough to have 7 days of paid sick leave.
Rail companies doubled their profits in the pandemic. There’s no reason they can’t afford to give paid sick leave to the workers who make those profits possible. There’s no reason they have to force people who’ve had a heart attack or broken a leg to show up to work or get fired.
