Granite Staters have already started to feel the negative impacts of the shutdown and impending health insurance price hikes. I’m fighting for legislation that tackles both these issues. I’ll keep listening to Granite Staters and working for them. wmur.com/article/pappas…
Today marks Day 10 of the shutdown and Speaker Johnson has failed to call the House into session for three weeks. Here’s my update. ⬇️
The agreement between Israel and Hamas that will return the remaining hostages and pull back Israeli troops is a crucial breakthrough. The war must end and relief must get to innocent civilians in Gaza who desperately need it. I am hopeful that this ceasefire will help build…

Today in Dover I met with community organizations, including @StraffordCAP, @DismasHomeNH, and @HopeonHavenHill, to hear from them about the shutdown’s impact on their services, and also the urgent need for Congress to take action on rising health care costs facing families every…

Great to be in Wolfeboro today for the groundbreaking ceremony for Phase III of Harriman Hill, a 30 unit affordable housing project. We need more affordable housing across our state. I’ll keep working to ensure our communities have resources to get projects like this one done.

Failing to extend critical health care tax breaks will hurt our veterans. Health care costs would increase significantly for 623,000 veterans who get their insurance through the ACA marketplace. 267,000 of them would be priced out of coverage. That’s unacceptable.

Paying our service members should be above politics. That’s why I support bipartisan legislation to pay service members during a shutdown, and that’s why I’ve joined a letter calling on @SpeakerJohnson to bring the House back to pass it.

Yesterday I joined the State Veterans Advisory Committee to give an update on my work for NH veterans on the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, including my legislation to deliver a full-service hospital to NH. I’m grateful for their service and everything they do for veterans.

The House has been out of session for nearly three weeks. The fact that Speaker Johnson isn’t holding votes on bipartisan legislation that would prevent this is absurd. The House needs to get back to work. cnn.com/2025/10/08/pol…
The men and women of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard are critical to our national defense. Their ability to make ends meet shouldn’t hang in the balance due to dysfunction in Washington. @RepGoodlander and I introduced legislation to ensure shipyard workers are paid during a shutdown.…

Granite Staters cannot afford the political games being pulled by Republicans who control Congress and the White House. Without an extension of these critical health care tax breaks for working families, millions will be forced to go without health care, and even more could see…
John Danforth, a U.S. Army veteran and devoted community leader, was named Hooksett Lions Club 2025 Citizen of the Year. I was honored to present him with a statement read into the Congressional Record commemorating his accomplishments and commitment to his community.

Two years ago, Hamas terrorists coordinated a horrific attack on Israel, murdered 1,200 innocent people, and kidnapped hundreds on the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust. Today we must honor the memory of those killed and call for an agreement to release the…
Americans should not suffer because Republicans, who control the House, Senate, and White House, are playing partisan politics and have forced our government to a standstill. My Keep the Heat On Act would ensure heating and energy assistance is funded during a shutdown so…

On Manufacturing Day, we recognize our manufacturers and how they drive our local economies. Smart investments in domestic manufacturing will make the industry and our country stronger. Reckless tariffs rising prices for businesses and families won’t.
Republicans control the House, Senate, and White House. They have chosen to avoid any negotiation and shut the government down rather than lower health care costs and reverse their Medicaid cuts. Here’s my update. ⬇️
