This is why hiring Native journalists and having beats dedicated to Indigenous Affairs is important. In Arizona alone, 6% of the voting-age population is Native American. In New Mexico, it's 11%. Native populations turn out to vote in tribal, state and national elections.

I worry about Democrats no matter what happens. If Trump wins, I worry some Democrats will blame the victims of voter suppression rather than voter suppression. If Biden wins, I worry some Democrats will act like the nation is post-racial as so many did in 2008. #Election2020

"This is us. And if we're gonna get past this, we can't blame it on [Trump.] He's a manifestation of the ugliness that's in us. Either we're gonna change, or we're gonna do this again and again." Thanks to @privtoprog for the video clip. #ShowUp fb.watch/1AgvAnCWNd/

Black people uprising against the racist police state is a threat to law & order that can’t be tolerated but armed white mobs forming outside of county buildings to disrupt the ballot counting process is... just part of the process???

Just yr annual reminder that the real life context for that “sexy Indian maiden” costume is that 8 in 10 Native women experience rape or abuse in our lifetime and 97% of Native survivors have been perpetrated by some one who is not Native.

They killed him in front of his mama. Didn't try to to deescalate. Didn't even attempt non-lethal force. Walter Wallace Jr.'s life matters. God damn this system of relentless death. Shatter it, that we might rebuild something better from its pieces. nytimes.com/2020/10/27/us/…
