BSF based BN located in Chaingund and Artillery Regiment played a crucial role during Kargil war. And the posts and area held by BSF was never captured or infiltrated by Pakistan due to constant presence of BSF troops on FDL. BSF G INT alerted much earlier about Pak kargil plan.
Very less people knew that kargil was saved due to @BSF_India as they didn't leave the post during winter as in practice but never credited
