A woman broke up with her boyfriend. He couldn’t take it, so he held her, her mum and her sister hostage, tied them up, and shot all 3 of them dead with a crossbow. A crossbow. The extent of male violence on women will forever blow my mind.
One of the reasons men don't want to hear that pregnancy is hard, scary, even life-threatening is because it demands empathy & humanization of women. The same reason they're angry over the bear. Women are supposed to be silent martyrs, not reporters of what men's actions do.
The visceral way some men respond when I don’t frame pregnancy in a positive light is fascinating to me. Like, pregnancy and childbirth was a horror movie for me, I’m not going to make it rainbows and butterflies for you. Stop being so fragile about it. 🤷🏻♀️
