Never ceases to amaze me how little Colorado cares about domestic violence. Absolutely flabbergasting #copolitics
Trans students have a suicide rate 5x their peers. Saying lots of kids are “identifying as cats” goes beyond saying costumes are distracting. It’s a pretty obvious anti-trans dogwhistle (pardon the phrase). As we noted last week, at odds with a campaign focused on youth suicide.
Let’s say there actually were a lot of Colorado kids going to school dressed as animals. Ganahl labeling those kids’ behavior as unacceptable and freakish seems to directly undermine her purported mission to protect young people’s mental health and to prevent youth suicide.
Just a reminder that a lot of conservatives aren’t interested in the law being an equalizing force but actually believe it’s a tool for applying necessary discipline and control over people they consider lesser or dangerous.
