Reconstruction Era National Historical Park will reopen Saturday, January 25 at 10 am. The Beaufort VC and Porter's Chapel will be open. Darrah Hall will remain closed. Please keep in mind that ice may still be present in the area after the winter storm.

Reconstruction Era National Historical Park will remain closed on Thursday, January 23 as a result of anticipated icy road conditions. Our special program, "Beyond Robert Smalls" scheduled for the Bluffton Public Library, will be rescheduled for a later date. City of Beaufort
Due to the approaching winter weather system, the park will close at 1pm on Tuesday January 21, 2025, and will remain closed on Wednesday January 22. We will reopen once conditions have improved and we have made an assessment of park sites and resources.
Join Ranger Chris Thursday, January 23 for a special program at the Bluffton Branch of the Beaufort County Library. "Beyond Robert Smalls: The Untold Stories of the Freedom Seekers on the Planter" is a 60-minute program that will start at 11 am. More info: nps.gov/planyourvisit/…

It's almost the New Year, and we are approach two important dates, Watch Night and Emancipation Day. Learn more about these dates on a tour at one of our sites. The park will be closed on January 1. We will reopen on January 2 with our regular hours and tour schedule.
