Here is the deal. Drug policies nearly ended my life! Harm Reduction saved it AND connected me to recovery which has given me the amazing life I have today! We need both in order to save lives.

Safe syringe programs play a crucial role in public health, preventing the spread of diseases and providing a lifeline to those struggling with addiction. Supporting these programs is a step toward a safer, healthier community for everyone. #HarmReduction #PublicHealth

The drug epidemic is a public health crisis that affects us all. Harm reduction strategies save lives by offering support, education, and compassionate care to those in need. It's time to prioritize solutions that truly make a difference. 💚 #HarmReduction #EndTheStigma

Fentanyl is driving overdose deaths and the overdose crisis. We are all concerned and urgently seek change. But when policymakers have the wrong cause, they advocate for the wrong solutions. The cause? An unregulated drug market and drug criminalization.

For everyone who says "harm reduction enables people to continue using drugs and doesn't actively connect people to detox and recovery". This is the overdose prevention site in the DTES with a HUGE sign that says "feeling done"? I don't know anyone in harm reduction who wouldn't…

I don't know who needs to hear this today: 🗣️📢 Anti-harm reduction activists are essentially saying, “Your life matters only if you follow the same moral code as me (aka abstinence-only).” Harm reduction supporters are essentially saying, “Your life matters. Period.”

Remember folks: the only way to really know your HIV status is to get tested. So many times we hear of folks having a “scare” because they’ve engaged in sexual activity and felt under the weather - that’s common! Imagine how many cases of flu and common cold are shared via sex

Many ppl assume that drug possession arrests frequently lead to treatment & therefore, ending them gets fewer ppl into care. In fact, few possession arrests lead to treatment, which is rarely available in jail, & if it is, is not evidence based.

Congrats to Minnesota legislature and everyone who supported, wrote & advocated for these initiatives and saw them through their passing!

People love to claim to we can’t change people’s behavior. But did you know the idea of “designated drivers” is only normal in America thanks to the work of a group of Harvard scholars? Here’s 5 reasons they succeeded.

Responsible designated driver ensuring a safe journey home

Advocating against syringe access is advocating for more HIV transmissions, more overdoses, greater levels of harm, and more transmissions of Hepatitis C. Advocating *for* syringe access is advocating for health, safety, and life.

So sick of labeling some drugs all good or all bad: let's say it again, different things help different people & one size almost never fits all. psychedelics are not going to replace antidepressants for everyone; some ppl need opioids. deal with it!
