The hardwood cuttings (i.e. bits I saved when pruning) of Elder (Sambucus) look to be doing ok, with leaves showing on 12 ex 18 (plus the one I planted upside down!)
Testing propagation of Wayfaring Tree by layering. The branches don't quite reach the ground so I'm pinning a couple down in a pot to see if they take. It's helpful having a mix of native species in our garden hedge.
My tree propagation guide says to crack open cherry stones, then treat them with cold etc. I shoved half a dozen stones straight into a pot of compost and left out over the winter. The first signs of new seedlings are poking through. This is from a Prunus cerasifera.

Can't help but think that the fact such a graphic is required to explain Plan 2 loan repayments is a clear demonstration that it would be pretty difficult for an 18 year old just about to start Uni to have understood what they were signing up for.
Many with Plan 2 student loans will see their outstanding loan balance go up year-on-year in cash terms despite making monthly repayments. Someone with an outstanding Plan 2 loan of £50k would need to earn around £63k this year for their repayments to offset the interest added.
Nothing says 'sustainable' like a load of Chinese solar panels helping to drive an industry that uses forced labour and is fuelled by a new wave of coal burning power plants.

Average Feb rainfall here in the Fens is only 34mm (at Mepal), and so far this Feb we've had 12mm. It really is like a different world
February rainfall so far. Average total February rainfall for southern England is around 60mm. No real sign of a prolonged dry spell.
