Why I started a free tech bootcamp
To support individuals from non-tech backgrounds to “relearn technology” into a rewarding, long-term career.
We are followers, but we will not blindly follow.
Two years ago I started a free, volunteer led, project based, peer-motivated, tech bootcamp + newsletter aimed at helping individuals to "relearn technology" into a rewarding career by pairing them with experienced mentors. @RelearnTech join.relearn.tech
When it comes to lifelong learning I'm not a fan of Coursera/Udemy, as they are too impersonal. Being part of a smaller identifiable group really helps motivating me. I've never been able to experience this at the big platforms, too many people, half of them only half motivated.
To me college is all about the community. So if you can motivate yourself, and you're a great networker, you probably don't need to attend college. Personally I wouldn't trade my uni years for anything, as the friends I made there are for life. That said there was no Twitter then

"relearning" is not learning again, it's an additive process of continuous improvement.
