One of the most moving experiences I've had @LibraryCongress was exploring the Rosa Parks Papers. In this note Mrs. Parks described how she felt at the moment of her protest. Her words are simple and powerful. I encourage you to read it now loc.gov/resource/mss85… #SerendipityRun
I have been beaten, my skull fractured, and arrested more than forty times so that each and every person has the right to register and vote. Friends of my gave their lives. Do your part. Get out there and vote like you’ve never voted before. #vote #goodtrouble
Congrats to these Spirit of Renner students who were nominated by teachers as being all around great kids. Out of over 1,200 students these were recognized as standout students. And shout out to @pittcrewx5 for using her creativity to make the water into a R #RennerStrong

Your daily reminder that not all heroes wear capes: 2 student library aides bravely cornered, battled, and killed a cockroach in my office. There are no words to express my gratitude. #RennerStrong

A teacher asked me today, “Do students read anymore?” I’m so tired of that question. They’re reading more than ever. We all are. Really, this one generation just up and abandoned reading? They’re not reading your textbook? Right, because we all are dying to read a textbook.
To all the educators out there just beginning their journey in the coming weeks - I wish you well, go be amazing and disrupt the norm! Always remeber to tell your kids you love them - you may be the only one who does!
Teacher Tip of the Day Don't sweat it all. You will NOT be 100% ready when the first day of school starts. Do what you can. Make your plans & get your room ready, but don't panic about what you don't accomplish before day one of school. #TTOTD #TeachBetter

Day 1 of in-service and all I have to show for it is a half done bulletin board, a cart of books that I rolled but didn't Shelve, a PowerPoint I closed out of without clicking save, and this Tweet. Ugh, not a good start. #overwhelmed #backtoschool
And consider the student who doesn't have a initial inclination toward your subject. How do you convince them--this is cool!
