This week, my House colleagues and I sent the state Senate a reasonable budget bill that invests in schools and other essential services, without raising taxes. This is the THIRD budget we have sent to the Senate in 100 days. Let’s hope they finally come to the table and pass it.

Our staffer Nanci attended the opening of the county’s newly renovated Community Services Building, where she met up with Centre County Board of Commissioners Chair Mark Higgins and toured the 118,000+ SF facility that will house many county services and elections operations.

Last Thursday, our staffer Nanci attended a beautiful 9/11 memorial service on the PSU campus Old Main lawn, which displayed 2,977 American flags – one in honor of each victim of the attacks. Nanci is pictured below with Student Special Events Coordinator Mia Humphreys.

Yesterday, the House passed a bill to infuse critical dollars into public transit – with no tax increase. I'm calling on the Senate to do the same, so we can keep the wheels turning on the buses, shared rides, and other services that are a lifeline for Centre County residents.

At the PA Envigo Beagle Reunion at Tudek Park, staffer Nanci Rommel and daughter Katy saw the joy of former laboratory beagles enjoying post-rescue life. Joining them were Humane World PA State Director Kristen Tullo, beagle owner Katie Denissen, and other adoptors & advocates.
It's 7/25, and Pennsylvania's minimum wage is still stuck at $7.25/hour, even as all our neighboring states have raised theirs. Our workers deserve better - it’s time to raise the wage!

Black Women's Equal Pay Day is observed on July 10 this year. The date is determined based on how far into the year Black women must work just to earn the same amount that white, non-Hispanic men earned the year before. We must do better - it's time to close the gap!
