Since January 20, too many of Donald Trump, Elon Musk and Republicans' actions have only served to break our government and hurt the American people. If you’ve been affected, please share your story here to help me best represent San Diego in Congress. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAI…

On Friday, I visited @teamstepusa and talked about their work to ensure military families have the help they need during the shutdown. I was happy to bring diapers for their free diaper distribution event and my take-home salary from this week to support their efforts.

This is outrageous. Because of the shutdown by President Trump and Republicans, the IRS furloughed half its workforce, but mostly customer service staff while still implementing President Trump’s tax cuts that overwhelmingly benefit the wealthiest Americans. That means anyone who…

Not talking about climate change or our emissions won’t solve the problem. This will only prevent us from lowering energy prices, ensuring clean air and water, and curbing the dangerous effects of climate change (which is real, by the way).

Well, one example comes to mind. Will President Trump pardon protesters in Chicago and Oregon like he did for Jan 6 “protesters?”

Stephen Miller asks when in our history have we tolerated unlawful, riotous assemblies around government buildings

The shutdown by President Trump and Republicans is hurting Americans. Airports are now facing flight delays and cancellations without enough air traffic controllers to keep people safe. This will only get worse the longer Republicans refuse to negotiate in good faith.

Whoa! The shutdown’s ripple effect starting to hit. Burbank Airport in LA County has no air traffic controllers on duty due to sick calls, last-minute day-off requests, and staffing shortages. If you’re flying anywhere in the country, check for delays.

This is blatantly illegal and needlessly cruel. Federal workers keep us safe and keep the country running smoothly. President Trump must stop using them as pawns in his attempts to stop Democrats from fighting for Americans’ health care. axios.com/2025/10/07/tru…

This Republican shutdown is hurting small businesses. Offices that support our small businesses are operating with just a fraction of their employees, preventing over 1,600 businesses from accessing millions in dollars of funding they depend on. subscriber.politicopro.com/article/2025/0…

In CA50, 28,000 people will see their health care costs rise because Republicans are letting critical tax credits expire. I’m doing everything I can to end the shutdown & bring down healthcare costs. Use this calculator to find out how you may be affected:kff.org/interactive/ho…

According to President Trump’s own words in 2013 “a shutdown means the president is weak.” What changed, Mr. President? Democrats are ready to end the shutdown and lower health care costs for Americans. Watch my full interview with @questCNN ⬇️

"If Donald Trump's such a deal maker, what's going on?" U.S. House Democrat @RepScottPeters ahead of the government shutdown.

On Tuesday, I talked with @RepMaxwellFrost, @RepTeresaLF, & @mmpadellan about this disastrous government shutdown and what it means for San Diegans. Our servicemembers are working without pay, healthcare, energy & food costs are all going up, and Republicans refuse to negotiate.

The President & Vice President are joking around and “having a good time” while our troops are working without pay, essential services are delayed or paused, and millions of Americans’ health care costs are increasing. This isn’t funny for the American people, Mr. Vice President.

If @RepJeffries helps us open the government right now, the sombrero memes will stop. This is my solemn promise.

May this Yom Kippur be a time of reflection and renewal. I wish San Diego families an easy and meaningful fast, and may you be sealed in the Book of Life. G'mar Chatima Tovah!

Federal employees keep us safe and keep the country running smoothly. It’s day 1 of the shutdown and President Trump is talking about using it to punish Democrats and fire critical people. He’s wasting time and resources and it’s the opposite of what Americans deserve right now.
