Perfect. ...“levelling the playing field” means, as it has meant to Marxists for 150 years, smashing everything down for everyone and then not building anything in its place. @gilescoren

The Jag ad, the Guardian, accusations that GCSEs are ‘too middle class’… ordinary people in Britain with decent values are being insulted by the same craven lefty Kamala Harrisite shit that gifted America to Donald Trump. We CANNOT let that happen here. thetimes.com/article/2f5176…

I support this message. Except for that Portillo chap, he’s quite entertaining.

Jane McDonald Pole to Pole. Amanda Holden and Alan Carr in Greece. Monty Don in Switzerland. Michael Portillo in Spain. Ben Fogle. Every bloody where. Lorraine Kelly in Norway. Rob Rinder & Rylan Clarke. Somewhere else. Again. Rick Stein in Australia. Simon Reeve. More places…

I suspect that vast majority of those agog at the time taken by a jury to come to a verdict (or not), citing the videos they've seen on the Internet as all the evidence they need, have neither sat in Court and observed full evidence/proceedings nor sat on a jury.

Mmm, much gerrymandering being done today? Oh yes, there is:- bbc.co.uk/news/live/c93k…

If, for example, one had asthma, a dodgy hip and a touch of the black dog every now and then, would one qualify for a subsidised lease on a BMW? Asking for a friend, obvs.

I'd lay £5 that 75% of people in the UK would support capital punishment for child murder/rape. What would Amnesty's reaction be to that, I wonder? #TheOpinionPollFolly

🚨 BREAKING: 75% of people in the UK would support a wealth tax of 2% on wealth over £10m. So why is the UK govt pushing through shameful cuts to social security tomorrow instead of taxing the super rich?

It will, indeed, make a vast difference to the ever-decreasing number of taxpayers who actually fund this seemingly bottomless pit of "welfare". We need an economy which rewards labour rather than idleness and provides a GENUINE safety net not handouts.

Tonight we voted for a 16% increase in Universal Credit over the next 4 years. That will make a massive difference in people’s pockets. 🌹

Where I come from “havering” has an entirely different (and more appropriate) meaning.

By 1 Raising taxes 2 Selling the Falklands to Argentina 3 Raising taxes 4 Selling Gibraltar to the Spanish 5 Raising taxes 6 Auctioning off all the remaining British Overseas Territories 7 Raising taxes and finally 8 Raising taxes

As I said yesterday in parliament, if Starmer (with his huge majority) can’t even get this modest reduction in the welfare costs past his own backbenchers, how will he pay for defence spending?

Clearly some issues with security around this and for that I'm sure arses will be kicked, however when they catch these would-be saboteurs one would hope the charges are somewhat more serious than "vandalism" bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

It's unlikely that within the next 20-50 years that a vehicle/computer will be regarded as ultimately in charge and therefore I believe the law will require a person in that role. A sober person.

One day self driving cars will resurrect rural pubs.

I'm seeing a LOT of accounts promoting "buy TSLA" (no hashtag for obvious reasons), so I've taken action and added more @RollsRoyce to my retirement fund. Cause SMRs >>> EVs for the environment.

Is it the build quality? Or the not-quite-yet-perfected software? Or both?

$TSLA looks cheap to me

Oops, or not oops? I'm uncertain.

This is true. When the TinyRepressedBrits were children (pre-Child Benefit means testing) we didn't claim child benefit since as a family we were relatively well off and could manage without it. Jolly annoyed about that now, I can tell you.

It applies to other areas as well. If the social contract is "you are an ATM for the state to fund utopian dreams", then it's rational for you in turn to treat the state like an ATM when offered the opportunity

You can pay me to go on holiday with a camera crew, but I’m ok with not winning a BAFTA for it.

A certain Indian conglomerate which owns a certain "British" motor marque can now send their cars to the States and will also get 20% off their NICs bills when they flood their factories with imported Indian staff. They are having a really good week.

At best disingenuous in the extreme, at worst an Orwellian level of newspeak combined with a bias so abundantly and clearly obvious that one might think he'd been badly trained as a seamstress. London deserves far, far better.

The Southport disorder and chilling attacks that followed shocked our nation and showed how fast false information can spread online. I’m investing £875k more—part of a record £15.9m—in community projects to tackle hate crime and strengthen London’s resilience to extremism.
