Our southern border is in crisis, and our brave border patrol agents are being attacked. We need to give them the tools to stay safe while keeping us safe. We need to build the wall.
Last week, the House voted to give @realDonaldTrump the full funding he needs for the border wall—the key to security at our southern border. The Senate needs to follow our lead.
I am pleased to announce that our very talented Deputy Secretary of Defense, Patrick Shanahan, will assume the title of Acting Secretary of Defense starting January 1, 2019. Patrick has a long list of accomplishments while serving as Deputy, & previously Boeing. He will be great!

My meeting in Argentina with President Xi of China was an extraordinary one. Relations with China have taken a BIG leap forward! Very good things will happen. We are dealing from great strength, but China likewise has much to gain if and when a deal is completed. Level the field!
