How can you tell if you’re working with a good recruiter? A bad recruiter just checks boxes. They ask candidates about skills, not pain points or motives. They ask hiring managers for top 3 keywords so they can just go right to control+f'ing through resumes. A good recruiter…

Please don't think you're a perfect fit and can "wing" an interview. Ain't gonna happen in this market. 🔽

“If I’m qualified, I’ll get the job.” Wrong. In this market, being qualified is the starting line, not the finish. The offer usually goes to the candidate who’s most prepared, likable, and well positioned. Not the smartest. Not the most experienced. But the clearest fit.

This is how you're most likely to find your next position ⬇️

Once you realize 70% of professionals land roles through their network, you have no choice but to rethink cold outreach. The empirical truth: Your existing connections are 14X more valuable than cold LinkedIn messages. Time to leverage your power circle.

Be careful what you say in an interview. A client said "Interviewers are like cops. And Sherri is my attorney." That's because I coach them on how to avoid saying something that could be misinterpreted. #jobsearch #interviews

Why is it necessary to include "please confirm receipt" to every single email ? Is it that hard to say "got it" or "thank you"? Certainly it's more efficient than having to send 3 more emails asking if they did, or finding out they never got it & now they're in a bind. #courtesy

This isn't the market to say "I've been laid off so I'll take a month off before I start my job search." If you need a pay check, don't do it. Spend your spare time tuning into your network & find out what's going on in their workplaces. Much better investment. #career #jobsearch

Putting your head in the sand is one way to cope. But you'll end up having more issues to face if this is the tactic you choose. This quick read by @gvanourek will help you see how you are really leaving the core problem unaddressed. greggvanourek.com/problem-with-a…
