This is the nastiest kickball pitch I’ve ever seen 😂 (via ebaumsworld/IG)

All but 3 schools would benefit from this Pac-12/MWC merger concept: Full shares = ORST, WAST, BST, UTST, COST, FRST, SDST. Half shares = NM, WY, NV, HI (football only). Loses MWC bonus $ = UNLV to Pac-12 (full shares) & USAFA to AAC. Out = SJST to ?

Jim Nantz was perfect on the call. “This is disaster in the making.”

Dick Butkus presenting that ball to the defender after the TD in 1971 was priceless. RIP

Although a straight forward path to the CFP would exist, I still don't see how a Pac-2 merger w/ the MWC keeps OSU & WSU P4 relevant. 🏈 independence would allow each to build P4 schedules, but would doing so earn either program more media money than joining a G5 conference?

I assume the AAC will present an offer to merge with the Pac 2/4 (Pacific American Conference- PAC), utilize the buyout money from UC, UH & UCF’s departures, attempt to enhance the TV media deal w/ ESPN & mention that they could add MWC teams at no cost after ‘26.

Considering that the MWC’s media deal ends in ‘26, I wonder if they have approached CBS/Fox to open up early negotiations. Doing so could potentially afford a merged Pac-2/MWC (Pacific Athletic Conference - PAC) to make more than the AAC.

“A primarily subscription-based deal for its TV contract which will begin relatively low w/ only the potential to be competitive with the ACC & Big 12,” likely won’t appease most of the 9 schools left in the Pac, especially when the Big 12 is guaranteeing $31+ million.

Not only do I think that Colorado may jump back to the Big-12, but the Pac-12 postured by adding Colorado St. to its expansion candidates. The Pac-12 would likely only want CSU if CU departed, so as to maintain its presence in the Denver DMA.

Carefull what you sow, UC Regents/Pac 12. Undermining UCLA might result in the B1G poaching a different Pac 12 school (Stanford) and/or creating a western flank (Washington & Oregon); after all, why would the Bruins lose so much by competing in the B1G, but not the Trojans?
