I compiled my hottest reloads of 2022 for your viewing pleasure. These will definitely be hard to beat! #kommanderkarl #reloadguy
Expanding #LdnOnt’s cycling network is consistent with all of these other goals you mention. We’ve waited too long to plan & implement a network that’s usable and safe for all ages. It will benefit all Londoners, will be cost effective, and must be a priority for the new council.
Many Londoners are worried about “covering daily living expenses”. City Council needs to stay focused on meeting the basic needs of the people. This is not the time to be discussing cycle lanes. We need to focus on small business survival, safety, public transit and housing.
I asked why we aren't installing protected lanes and the answer was two fold, Colborne in this area is not wide enough (but apparently wide enough for street parking) and people don't drive over 40 there (hahahahahahaha). We can do better @CityofLdnOnt @mhamou.
BREAKING: mass media still totally silent three weeks after UN Secretary General says world's biggest carbon emitters (like meat and dairy industrialists) must drastically cut emissions starting now in 2022 if global climate catastrophe is to be averted 🧵
BREAKING: UN Secretary-General says the world's biggest carbon emitters must start drastically cutting emissions within the next 36 weeks to avert climate catastrophe 🧵
Why are we not pushing back against auto manufacturers more aggressively? Why are we not holding them accountable? They’ve realized huge profit while damaging the environment, accelerating climate change and being responsible for so many lost human lives.
We are talking about parking requirements in #ldnont. Getting rid of parking minimums for residential developments, especially near transit, can help make new infill housing more affordable. From the staff report:
What do you say, should a historic bridge be used as a beautiful active transportation route or just another way to move more cars?
Sign if you think the historic Blackfriars Bridge should remain an active transportation route so that everyone can enjoy it safely chng.it/y6nRPgp2qM
.@jesse_helmer succinctly explains why this proposal is a bad idea. School = good. Ignoring existing staff recommendation with respect to sprawl = bad.
Solving the school capacity issue is a great idea! But not if it requires premature sprawl development. Say no to sprawl! #ldnont helmer.ca/no_sprawl?recr…
Oh, London. Just do a BIT to live up to your policies!
FINALLY! @Comadork @maximoprado @Beth_macshack @gbgloor @Erlenmeyer_PhD news.westernu.ca/2021/08/covid-…
Covid vaccination should be required for a safe return to campus chng.it/FFPw5FWt via @CdnChange
I'm not militant about cycling, I'm militant about not wanting to die on my way to work just so someone in a car can save 5 seconds off their journey. I'm not fanatic about cycling, I'm fanatic about being able to get about safely without owning a car.
Spoiler: NO.
Ben has done more to combat climate change in London than all of city council has done ever, ever. This is a huge loss for our community and you lucky fucks in Victoria get to benefit. Good thing @AndrewHunniford is steering the ship here. Onward and upward! #ldnont
