Lincoln East girls make it three straight state titles with surprise win

The Spartans had their best race of the season at the right time Friday to win the team championship at the state meet at Kearney Country Club.


BACK TO BACK TO BACK STATE CHAMPIONS!!!! THREE PEAT BABY!!!! Those girls competed their faces off!!!

Five state medalists is an East High record - previously in both 2012 & 2013 the Spartans had four medalists. Jenna Muma 14th, Abbie Schmidt 13th, Taylor Searcey 9th, Kylie Muma 4th, and Berlyn Schutz 2nd. Additionally, Izzy Apel was 27th and Eve Weber 38th.

In winning the Girls 3200m race yesterday in her first ever attempt at running the race, sophomore Jenna Muma ran the 3rd fastest time in school history with a time of 11:16.78! Congratulations Jenna!
