I really have no idea where my social media is going from here, but I have a feeling I will lesson my time on it in general.
Passion brings a sense of ownership and opinions. Very few people are passionate about yesterday's shit.
Weird thing I've noticed: Tech terms with a positive/aspirational connotation (serverless, DevOps, etc) tend to get watered down until nobody agrees on the meaning; but NEGATIVE-coded terms (lift&shift, waterfall) tend to retain specific, widely-accepted meanings. Why is this??
As was made clear in all press, until May I am both DC & Marvel. I've dedicated the majority of the past 10 years of my life to the Guardians trilogy, & I'm not abandoning them or the thousands of people who worked on them at the 11th hour. The world won't end if you love both.
Unpopular opinion: There's literally nothing appealing about going out to bars and drinking.
Its funny the tax departments know exactly how much everything should be when they sent you collections letters (because they are so slow processing your check they literally go into collections).
I tell my students ever time we start CSS "I have never met anyone who is meh about CSS. You either like and want to do more, or you want to avoid it forever."
Some say both, but what if someone said...neither?
Neither actually. I look at it as a means to an end.
Did you become a software developer because you love tech or love cash? Be honest
Being a trans woman that still hangs out with her dude friends after transitioning is weird cause you're like "yea bro let's go get a beer bro and watch the new John Wick movie bro just hold up first I gotta fix my makeup first bro."
...the code?
When your code has a bug, where do you go first? 1. Google 2. StackOverflow 3. Official Docs 4. Crying in the bathroom
inspired by real events please enjoy this one page RPG called "I do not want a mastodon" in which you are given a mastodon you do not want by well meaning people who do not understand that you do not want a mastodon
The MAGA movement, based on aging white boomer victimhood is a bell curve. That bell curve has peaked for the simple reason that boomers, of which I am one, are dying off. -Boomers were wholly unprepared for the blunt manipulations of Fox News, in bundled cable of the 90s
In this household, any time I cook, I am Papa Richie of Papa Richie's Kitchen.
I love teaching, but I also consider it an honor and my duty to pass along what I know. I have spent a lifetime writing code. I want what I have learned to help others.
