“Now the fun is going to cost me money.” - shitty dev That’s how life works, lol. Datastar is a CRAZY cool project. Free core library, free SDKs, decent docs, etc. God forbid they sustain the project with convenient PRO features.

So top of Hacker News for the day means I have to write an essay, hurray for content? data-star.dev/essays/greedy_…

never seen the history of C# drawn up like this. fan since day 1. it's come a long way since fx days. core years were a little bumpy but what an impressive feat to make it cross-plat. more good stuff coming next month.

Thankfully, I procrastinated long enough to avoid rework.

Woah. This is exactly what I need for a project.

I'm recovering from ACL surgery and will have a talk to give in two weeks. Why are there no canes with built-in clickers? I may use it once, but I'd definitely use it.

Will the real old heads please stand up?

Imagine your team only had two environments: 1. Your machine (where you code and test) 2. Production Could you successfully ship software this way?

BRB, writing my first Code of Conduct. "If you are more annoying to work with than your contributions justify, you'll be ejected."

I'm about to do something I think I've never done before, which is assert every bit of whatever authority I have as the person who discovered and wrote down the rules of open source. After ten years of drama and idiocy, lots of people other than me are now willing to say in…

BREAKING 🚨 UK government makes Digital IDs mandatory: 'You will not be able to work in the United Kingdom if you do not have a digital ID, it's as simple as that.'

.NET has got to be the programming community with the highest amount of architectural bullshit that I’ve ever seen.

Ok, I can finally spill the big project 😊 dometrain.com/course/getting…

It's 2025. If you're not deploying from a checklist in an Excel file on the network drive… Do you even have job security?

The H1B drama was poorly timed. I submitted this, and it was accepted. The talk reframes the doomsday outlook on AI taking our jobs, presenting it as transforming, not threatening the discipline. Working on a new title now. 😂

I’m thinking about putting a talk together: Make Engineering Great Again I could have a lot of fun with this.

It's a blessing and a curse.

I've been bitten by the monorepo bug. How long do symptoms last?
