The issue is that Silent Hill is being used as a universal label, not a shared identity. RE4 and RE7 reinvented within Resident Evil. These projects feel like unrelated concepts wearing the Silent Hill name. If the title can mean anything, it stops meaning something.
I know some Silent Hill fans are like โWhy is it even called SH thenโ. But IMO, I think this is just growing pains for the fanbase. Sometimes an IP just needs to branch out, as fans are often times scared of change. Much like how RE would not be where it is today with RE4 & 7.
