I'm not a huge fan of triangles or pyramids but there is an interesting relationship between test levels, understanding the impact of a problem and understanding the cause of the problem. #testing

#AgileMaxim 1: It is in the doing of the work that we discover the work that we must do. Doing exposes reality.

Our customers want a product that makes them successful not busy teams. Stop fixating on being busy, start fixating on making customers successful.

In software product development we should optimise or eliminate what we have unless there's hugely compelling evidence as to why we should add something new. 80-90% of all ideas are SHIT.. treat every new feature suggestion with enormous scepticism.

If there was only one question I could ask when coaching teams in terms of software delivery it would be: "How could we make this change smaller and safer?" IME as teams get better at making their changes smaller and safer their performance skyrockets.

A generative culture is foundationa to high performing teams. Generative cultures optimise for the flow of information. Steep power gradients inhibit information flow. We need to create environments where people are not afraid to speak truth to power in fact are encouraged to

Strategy is important, but what does it mean? Here's my first effort: "Strategy is the deliberate and thoughtful allocation of time and energy to achieve desired outcomes by leveraging virtuous cycles and minimizing vicious cycles for sustained success."

One of my favourite @KentBeck quotes "We don’t get paid for tests, we get paid for code that a) works and b) can be changed. Tests can help with that but, all else equal, less effort on tests is better."

Today I'm super proud to see @heather_reiduff deliver an amazing keynote @AgileTD. It's seeing achievements like this that make my job so satisfying, well-done @heather_reiduff 🎉
