Tihange 1 nuclear power plant will shutdown for the last time at midnight tonight after 50 years of service. The Belgian government, despite reversing their disastrous nuclear phase-out law, is still allowing @ENGIEgroup to shutdown this vital piece of clean energy…

The Agricultural Revolution worked out great for us, but it sucked for people at the time, who had to work much harder than their nomadic ancestors, with more diseases. The Industrial Revolution worked out great for us, but it sucked for people at the time, who worked grueling…
I’m eating lab grown meat the second it’s mass market ready. It’s biologically identical to animal meat and will reduce suffering more than any technology in the history of our planet as long as enough people switch over from factory farmed meats.
Every post I see in favor of lab grown meat and lab made food in general is never made by a healthy looking person
I’ve already eaten lab meat, will eat it exclusively as my meat protein as soon as it is widely available and I - as a 41 year old woman - can currently do more pull ups than the average American man so 😘
I love that @mark_lynas named his pod Saving the World From Bad Ideas. We took a stab at it; you might not like all we had to say but hear us out!
Is industrial agriculture the villain it's made out to be? In this episode of Saving the World from Bad Ideas, @mark_lynas sits down with award-winning journalist and author @MikeGrunwald to explore Bad Idea #16: "We need to ditch intensive agriculture." Grunwald, whose latest…

This is what happens when climate absolutism trumps everything else: Hundreds of thousands die each year from indoor air pollution caused by wood and charcoal. Meanwhile, rich countries block access to clean-burning LPG. Powerful campaign by @weplanetint -->

BREAKING: Germany drops its decade-old anti-nuclear stance. In a statement to the @FT, German and French officials confirm Germany will no longer oppose nuclear in EU energy policy. A historic shift! Long live Germany’s anti-nuclear stance… you will not be missed
I really loved e’thing about @rcbregman's new book, but the bit that’s really sticking with me is this: Wonder how you would have behaved during any of history’s greatest moral scourges? Easy: However you’re behaving now. There’s plenty happening right now that future generations…

1/ Energy, industry, and sovereignty are inseparable. If Europe wants to be a truly independent pole in an emerging multipolar world, it must reindustrialize—not deindustrialize. That starts with reversing nuclear phaseouts. 🧵
