So true

The best way to keep people poor: Convince them their poverty is someone else’s fault and only the government can save them.

Good to see that somebody is keeping an eye on them.

🇿🇦 IMF shocker: South Africa is the only country where people are getting poorer. •Real GDP per capita ↓ 0.3% in 2025 & 2026 •GDP growth avg. 0.8% / yr (2014-2024) vs population 1.4-1.6% / yr •Economy ≈ R7.5 trillion — should be R12 trillion if it matched peer EM growth…

It’s the season for unions to demand more wages for their members. But how irresponsible is that in a shrinking economy! We’ve seen so many companies close their doors due to union action. Maybe people should pause and thank the fact that the are employed

SA seems to be very good at being the worst. This time rated at having worst performing ports in the world.

The latest edition of the Container Port Performance Index (compiled by the World Bank and S&P Global Market Intelligence) ranks SA's ports as follows: Durban - 403 (out of 403 total ports) Coega - 402 Cape Town - 400 Port Elizabeth - 395

Well, the import of chips always supported a small but resilient tech manufacturing industry in SA, but without these chips one can’t really build any worthwhile electronic device

Taiwan has imposed restrictions on the export of chips to South Africa over national security concerns, taking the unusual step of using its dominance of chip markets to pressure a country that’s closely allied itself with China. dailyinvestor.com/technology/103…

More than a decade ago I introduced a system to municipalities that would eradicate ghost workers, amongst others. DA municipalities embraced it, and ANC municipalities outright rejected it - for that very reason, every department had a finger in the pie.

South Africa is losing billions annually to ghost workers on the government payroll, a fraud enabled by collusion among state employees. dailyinvestor.com/south-africa/1…

SA is at a point of no return in a debt crisis that will destroy the future of the next generation

Read that again ‘affordable and abundant energy’ that is the key to low level industrialization and manufacturing. Meanwhile SA chooses to abandon cheap coal in favour of marked-up diesel. A chokehold that is killing the economy

The data is clear:  Every nation that escaped poverty did so through economic freedom and reliable, affordable and abundant energy. African nations will be no different.

That’s R1,377,000,000,000.00 or 1,377 Billion Rand. Wasted money that could have served SA citizens better. But I think people hear the amount and not realize just how big it actually is. Thats more than R20,000 for every South African citizen - wasted!

newsday.co.za/south-africa/4… National, provincial, and municipal government departments and entities collectively reported more than R1.377 trillion in fruitless, wasteful, irregular, and unauthorised expenditure between the 2019/20 and 2023/24 financial years.

Mashatile falsely attaches ideology and election propaganda to economic policy. SA’s shrinking economy, rising unemployment and regular looting tells us everything we need to know about BEE

It really is sad to see how people with a collection of bad human traits, like greed, arrogance, and incompetence, can fool the very people they hurt the most for so long, that their destructive force will leave a lasting legacy while a country goes to ruin at exponential rate.

South Africa’s economy is imploding after 15 years of policy mismanagement, collapsing infrastructure, and poor service delivery, with the government responding reactively instead of making fundamental reforms. dailyinvestor.com/south-africa/1…
