We've designed with flexibility in mind, and meaning having a high level of ingress protection (IP rating)! This allows the platform to be safely and reliably deployed in outdoor elements. #robots #hvdc #tso #engineering #mechanics
Ross Robotics' EXTRM MK4 has been designed for extreme endurance, running 8 hours between charges! More time recording and gathering useful information, less time charging! #engineering #robots #
The Ross Robotics EXTRM MK4 robot has modular mechanical and software architecture! This allows for the rapid integration of tools and sensors, which protects customers investment by allowing cost-effective adaptation to new missions. #hvdc #renewableenergy #tso #engineering
Vigorous testing is an essential part of development. What tests have you run that caught an error before it could become a problem? #softwareengineering #automation #technology #robotics
With the changing climate, our power grids are under increasing pressure to perform in unexpected circumstances. The EXTRM can be used inside HVDC converter halls, allowing for inspection without interrupting service. This is vital as it lowers the risk of unplanned downtime!
Sexy cool bumper assembly; includes front facing wide angle camera for robot’s eye view for the operator, TOF sensors for obstacle detection and avoidance, and headlights for… err… head lighting. #robots #ros2 #autonomousvehicles #LED #linux #canbus #inspection #maintenance
Automate inspection with the EXTRM robot! The EXTRM can follow set paths, manually inspect specific areas, and automatically return home to charge! #technology #softwareengineering #automation
There are options when it comes to controlling your robot! Need the feedback now? Use a rugged laptop and get all the data you need as it comes in. Prefer to have a greater level of control to review your telemetry data later? You can use an Xbox controller! #technologynews
This matte metal case provides the EXTRM with high EMF resistance, so it can function where other robots can't. Through hard work, our EXTRM MK4 puts out very low levels of EMF, making is safe for use in high sensitive environments! #Innovation #TSO #HVDC #robotics
Wheeled bots get a bad rep! Having a robot that is stable by default is a greater benefit than most people consider, and wheeled robots can still traverse complex and difficult terrain with some clever wheels. Consider the priorities of stability vs aesthetics. #technology
Ross Robotics makes automated ground-based robots for use in difficult terrain, hazardous environments, and sensitive areas. The EXTRM robot has received CE marking and has an IP55 rating, qualifying it for use with high levels of dust and water! #robotics #engineering
Going off the grid? Attaching a comms module adds extra power, so you can control the EXTRM from even further away! #communication #science #STEM #mechatronic
Need specialised equipment? Get a pair of Ross Universal Connectors (RUCs) and create a custom module! #robotics #technology #engineering #science
The EXTRM is a robot that is light enough for a single person to pick up and move, with handles and a packing case to make this easier. Easy transport means the EXTRM can come along with minimal planning or extra cost, making life all the easier!
The EXTRM MK4 as it follows a path around our lab. A design like this that allows a robot to follow a path which has multiple possible options, is an important element in an autonomous design which allows the EXTRM to patrol independently and return to its charging base as needed
In March, we spoke with students of Dunhurst, Bedales’ prep school. The students were curious and open, fostered by Bedales’ focus on growth. Ross Robotics loves to support young people, thank you, @BedalesSchool, for the invitation. #robotics #stem #TheBedalesDifference
We’re thrilled to welcome, Hasith Reddy to the Ross Robotics team! Hasith is our new Project Manager, he has years of experience and a Master’s Degree from Manchester. Outside of work, he enjoys cricket, football, and cooking. Please give Hasith a warm welcome!
