Immediately following issuance of tonight’s tornado warning for Newark, Rock Co. activated the Outdoor Warning Siren System. This system automatically activates all Rock Co. sirens, regardless of where the warning is issued. Call Emergency Mgmt. for siren issues at 608-758-8440.

Local law enforcement agencies and fire departments will train water rescues on Lake Koshkonong tonight, May 10, 2021. Operations will be based out of Royce Dallman Park. This is a scheduled Multi-Jurisdictional Water Rescue Training. There is no actual water rescue underway.
Our Honor Guard is attending the 31st Annual Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony at the State Capitol in Madison today. We honor the fallen officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of their duty.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office received 20 first responder bags today to help children deal with crisis situations as part of the REACH-A-Child program, thanks to a $5,000 contribution from AT&T Wisconsin that is helping provide bags to first responders across Wisconsin.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The Sheriff's Office stands against child abuse with our community partners at the YWCA Care House. We encourage you to participate in their awareness scavenger hunt.
Congratulations to all of our Hunter Education Graduates! Education courses like this, play an essential role in helping to reduce accidents, and by promoting safe, responsible, and ethical use of the environment and our resources. We plan to host additional classes in Fall 2021.
April 12-16, is Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week. A mock tornado watch will be issued tomorrow, April 15, statewide by the National Weather Service at 1:00 p.m., followed by a statewide mock tornado warning at 1:45 p.m. Rock County sirens alert at 1:45 p.m. for 1-2 min.
