Wonderful! Congratulations, John.
It is an honor to run an Institute that bears his name!
Amen.
Ed Meese is one of the kindest and most generous men I have ever met. I am glad we will be able to help ameliorate the damage that has been done to the reputation of the center that bears his name at Heritage, by doing outstanding work under the banner of the Meese Institute for…
Merry Christmas to you and Susan!
Folks are asking me what I am going to do next. I’m enjoying Christmas w/my wonderful family, as I hope all of you are doing. When that’s over, I’ll think about the future & how I can continue to contribute to this great country we all call home.
Josh's statement at Reason is worth reading.
I so admire Josh as an honest and forceful analyst, and the Guide is on my desk because a week doesn’t go by that I don’t use and learn from it.

Wow. It's not just that the staffers from Heritage's Meese Center are moving to @AmericanFreedom. They're taking the name with them, with Edwin Meese himself in support of it.
My wife Juliana has a nice piece this morning at Civitas, "A National Day of Gratitude," drawing on her first Thanksgiving in America after her family had left communist Romania some six decades ago: bit.ly/4837eg2
Who am I to gainsay this?
Btw, this is from a brand new book edited by my professor, Jan Laitos from @SturmCOL. It features some great pieces on property rights from @Roger_Pilon, @IlyaSomin, @RichardAEpstein, and many more. Get you a copy! e-elgar.com/shop/usd/rethi…
I enjoyed this exchange with @Cato’s legendary Constitutional law scholar @Roger_Pilon — on why I believe the American system will prevail in 21st-century competition with China.
Wow. We choose our own demise.
Demographic shifts—people voting with their feet—will lead eventually to a death spiral in the losing states. Tax payers leave; tax takers remain. Unless the feds bail those losing states out. Watch Illinois, NY, etc.
New Jersey would be very competitive politically if all the Republicans who moved to FL from NJ since I‘ve been governor were still voting in New Jersey. Bad leftist policies drive out center/right voters and leave the remaining electorate even more left.

God bless Josh Howerton for being one of the only pastors with the courage to speak these truths.
Released today: Anyone who is opposed to shutting people up by force is bound to be faced with arguments that suppressing speech isn’t so bad after all. But these arguments were considered and rejected decades ago, and this is a perfect handy guide on how to answer them, by a…

The European Union, together with the governments of Canada, Great Britain, and the Netherlands, has called for the immediate deescalation of the fighting between Israel and Iran. One has to wonder what perverse moral universe they inhabit. Since its violent takeover of Iran in…
Gotta love this!
Amen. Trump's attack on the Federalist Society and Leonard Leo in particular was reprehensible. At bottom it was a vile attack on the rule of law.
The interesting question isn't the relationship between Trump and Leonard Leo or the Federalist Society; the interesting question is whether the Trump-led GOP is any longer, in any meaningful sense, a "constitutionalist conservative" party.
