Artist development takes years. They don’t need to “blow up” quick with a hit song to prove they are succeeding. If an artist gets bigger and more established every year, they’re doing something right.
The strategy for an artist shld be “build a foundation so strong, it allows them the time to grow & sustain a great career” It’s like planting a seed in the ground, hoping it grows & sprout into a strong tree w/ deep roots, that makes it hard to knock dwn no matter the storm.
Artists need to understand and be reminded of this too.
A career in music is a marathon, not a sprint. Imagine projecting the career arc of an NBA player after a handful of games or even their first season in the league. This shit takes TIME. Show grace.
