Last night, I participated in the @readtosucceed annual celebrity spelling bee. Big congrats to Katie Turner, Youth Services Coordinator at Linebaugh for taking home the trophy! @rclstn 🎉 It was really cool to meet other literacy enthusiasts in our community.
What a treat! Today, I joined Smyrna High School students as they learned how to be true archivists of historical primary documents at the Tennessee State Library and Archives. The curator and cataloger in me was overjoyed. Kudos @SHSLibrary37167 for providing this opportunity!

Calling all poets AND @jeffzentner fans!! On Friday, Nov. 14th @ 6pm, Blackman High Library's poetry club will be teaming up with the Culinary and Visual Arts, along with Poetry in the Boro to put on a fundraiser for a good cause called "Soup and Sonnets." Everyone is welcome!

Loved meeting Mr. Greene yesterday at @RockyForkMS, the great, great grandson of Frederick Douglass. It was really cool to witness students make real connections between their Amplify unit and Mr. Greene’s message of literacy and legacy. 🇺🇸
It was really fun watching fifth graders at Christiana Elementary School listen to Ms. Oliver read The Skull to students, using Novel Effect . . . IN THE DARK!!!🔦💀

We are so grateful that Humanities Tennessee partnered with our school district to arrange for 700 of our students from seven different schools to attend the Southern Festival of Books Student Day at The Tennessee State Library and Archives. So much book joy cultivated!
