@Rubymorris2043
We continue using muons to study Li-ion diffusion in ternary halides. Happy to be back at @isisneutronmuon and work with Peter on EMU again. @UofGChem @UofGSciEng @Prof_DHGregory @Rubymorris2043
Very sad news about the passing of Nobel laureate professor John goodenough. A true giant of solid state chemistry who made advances in a huge range of areas, from magnetism to batteries, and will be deeply missed for his infectious enthusiasm for science.
Sad news to report. Nobel laureate Professor John Goodenough, one of the founding scientists of lithium-ion batteries, has passed away at the age of 100. He was just one month away from his 101st birthday. What a legacy he leaves behind! His work has had a profound impact on our…
This afternoon @pengcheng_jing and @Rubymorris2043 both presented their (first!) posters at the SSCG at the University of Cambridge. Pengcheng’s poster was on cathode materials for magnesium-ion batteries and Ruby’s was on phase transitions in Ca-Mg-H systems. Very proud!@SscgR
Today we say farewell to @nfloresg7 He is leaving to work on characterisation of Pd NPs for directed catalysis using INS. We will miss him, with his contagious (but niche) sense of humour, his willingness to always help others, and his overall fabulousness. Now sashay, away.
My second paper on halide Li-ion conductors has been published in @JMaterChem. Work done in collaboration with @ZeierLab @FrancescIllas and Ingo Krossing. INS data collected at @isisneutronmuon @UofGChem @IQTCUB @RoySocChem @UniFreiburg pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…
Our masters student @Rubymorris2043 is currently at day 2 of the #TNTschool2022 on Neutron Diffraction with the Società Italiana di Spettroscopia Neutronica in Valle Aurina! It’s an absolutely beautiful place with some incredible views to look at in between all the lectures !
First in person meeting of the year! We are looking like a solid (state!) bunch! @nfloresg7 @Rubymorris2043 @pengcheng_jing @Prof_DHGregory @UofGChem
On the way to #NMSUM (my first ever academic conference!!) with @nfloresg7. Tomorrow he will be doing a talk on how neutrons and muons can be utilised to understand Li-ion conductors! @Prof_DHGregory @UofGChem
