🧎♂️In the #microcommission 'Cheimadia,' Alkmini Gkousiari proposes a piece of work that can be worn just as the artist carries Athens with her from afar. The sculpture and performance were inspired by an ancient Greek perfume bottle in the form of a kneeling athlete.
📬‘Carte Postale' by Melina Fakitsa Mosland is a collage that explores Athens' contradictory architecture against an ironically romanticised colour palette. This is a #microcommission for the Spirit issue of the Creative Cities journal.
👁️'Moirai' familiarizes the viewer with the ancient Greek myth of the Moirai (‘the Fates’) who control the thread of life, and contrast with tyche (‘chance’). This embroidered eye is a #microcommission by Iliodora Margellos in response to our 'Spirit' theme which explores Athens

#ArtRelief4Beirut is selling art on Instagram with funds going to trusted #Lebanonrelief efforts. This recently sold work, Ahmad Beydoun’s Wheat Dissolution, uses machine learning to compile images of the grain siloes that were the only structures left standing in Beirut’s port.
