Happy Thanksgiving from the SCPD 5th Precinct! Today we are thankful for our veterans and their sacrifices for our country. Each year 5th PCT officers and staff donate money to purchase turkeys to provide to our local veterans. This year we were able to donate 80 turkeys
Special thank you to Troop 438, Bohemia for honoring our local veterans, police, and first responders. Fifth Precinct officers also had the pleasure of meeting, Edward Tinsdale a 101 year old WW2 veteran. Thank you to all that keep our community safe.💙

Sgt. Dennis Reichardt responded on 9/11/01 as a bomb tech & spent several days at Ground Zero, then screened debris through Dec 2001. He was diagnosed with 9/11-related Stage 4 pancreatic cancer in April 2017. Sgt. Reichardt was survived by his wife, 2 sons, daughter & grandson.
