We invite you again to submit an abstract for our conference #Microgels2024. Abstract submission is still open till tomorrow, 1st Nov 2023. For updates, check our conference website: microgels2024.rwth-aachen.de. We look forward to receiving your abstracts and seeing you in Montabaur.
The applications for the PhD position between my group, now at Malmö University, and @ILLGrenoble are re-open. We will study the flow of soft spheres, using the state-of-the-art of shear cells, neutron and x-ray scattering. The position will stay open until filled. Please RT.
We celebrate 12 years of #microgel research of our #Sonderforschungsbereich with an international conference #Microgels2024 from 2-5 April 2024 at Hotel Schloss Montabaur, Germany. Please feel invited to join and submit an abstract by 1st Nov 2023. microgels2024.rwth-aachen.de
Softness is an everyday concept but how can we quantify it? Read about this topic in our new review "How Softness Matters in Soft Nanogels and Nanogel Assemblies" on @ACSChemRev. Thanks to @RichteringL and @SFB985! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

How Softness Matters in Soft Nanogels and Nanogel Assemblies
Softness plays a key role in determining the macroscopic properties of colloidal systems, from synthetic nanogels to biological macromolecules, from viruses to star polymers. However, we are missing...
Congratulations to Nabanita and Dominik, two PhD students of our SFB, for winning poster prizes at the 35th Conference of the European Colloid & Interface Society! #ECIS2021
Winning 🏅 the best poster prize in my first offline conference was the greatest feeling ever and now feeling honoured when featured on the SFB website. 🤓@SFB985

Responsive poly-N-isopropylacrylamide-based microgels are commonly used as model colloids with soft repulsive interactions. It has been shown that the microgel-microgel interaction in solution can be...
