SFGSL is an LGBTQ+ softball league committed to providing an organization for LGBTQ participants.
After retiring from baseball Glenn was still active in sports, including medals in the Gay Games and an active player in the @SFGSL. Glenn passed away in 1995 from complications due to AIDS, he is recognized for breaking barriers in professional sports. #BlackHistoryMonth 2/2
#D3 Celebrates #BlackHistoryMonth in honor of Glenn Burke. Baseball fans may recognize Glenn for creating the “high-five” when he celebrated Dusty Baker’s 30th HR in 1977. Glenn was a Bay Area native who was also the first publicly-openly gay professional baseball player. 1/2
