Eureka Challenge On Wednesday, teams from all the mixed aged houses competed in the annual Eureka! Senior Challenge. The teams were set three challenges which included constructing a magnetic ‘Gauss gun’. The winners were Aldhelmsted East! Well done all to involved.
On Tuesday 25th November, the final Chemistry Symposium of the calendar year took place. Loulou D. and Clarice I. gave an insightful presentation on the on the use of Opioids within medicine and how they work in the human body.
Christmas is coming so it is time for the 'Chemistree' in Chemistry Lab 1.
The Sixth Form Biology students enjoyed a two-day residential trip to Nettlecombe Court Field Studies Centre. Our biologists undertook a range of ecological investigations in a variety of inspiring habitats, including rocky shores, streams, grasslands and sand dunes.

Science came to life with an explosive visit from Wonderstruck, who hosted an immersive show called BANG! The Science of Movie FX. The display featured fireballs, blast effects, and a touch of Hollywood magic to reveal how those big explosions in action movies are really done.
Monday 22nd of September saw the first Chemistry Symposium of the year occur. The topics ranged from ‘The Synthesis of Paracetamol’ to the use of anaesthetics in veterinary science. Congratulations to our Sherborne Girls presenters who were Cici, Nicolette, Amelie and Charlotte.
L6 and U6 Physicists visited Sherborne Abbey for a talk by the UK Space Agency under the surreal backdrop of 'Gaia'. The lecture detailed the history and future of space travel and the UK's part in it, as well as the skills and attributes required for a career in Space.
Our amazing L6 girls had an inspiring time at #AeroWomen2025 in Yeovil! They joined 260+ engineers, directors, innovators and collaborators to celebrate the impact of women in aerospace, explore role models, and share stories of innovation, ambition, and empowerment. 💫✈️ #STEM

On Friday 10th January, the Chemistry Department welcomed back Lily who is now studying at University College London. Lily talked to both the Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth students about how she prepared for her A level summer examinations and achieved an A* grade.
