When working with SWD or any student, try to remember that good work that goes unnoticed will lead to bad work which surely will be. Support the growth in the kids, even when there's still a long road to grade level. #SPED #SpecialEducationTeacher #SAI #Inclusion

State testing results looking very positive for our SWD, lot's of food for thought and patterns to look at. A big thank you and congratulations to the staff @reche_CJUSD ! "We all do better when we all do better" - Ed Mercer #sped #specialeducationteacher

Hi Tim! 🙋🏻‍♀️Fellow RSP teacher here. Our #sped Team used Google Calendar last year and it worked out pretty well. The principal set it up and we all had the ability to add our IEP dates to it. It was nice being able to see everyone’s scheduled dates when trying to book an admin.

#SpedTech Tip: Google Drive is excellent for storing/sharing confidential IEP information with your colleagues. Permissions allow you to limit viewership/editing ability to a single teacher, grade level, site or district (dependent on district policy etc. etc. etc.) #SPED

1) Scheduling! Trying to find a mutually agreeable time, esp. when the student has multiple services. 2) the massive amount of paperwork. Blogpost on IEP meetings: gktechies.wordpress.com/2018/09/08/nav…

For all those Resource Specialist, RSP Teachers, SAI Teachers, etc. Please share with me the biggest pain points that occur in your IEP and Collaboration Process. I'm building Google Tools! #SPED #iteachsped #inclusion #specialeducationteacher

Thank you to everyone who came to my session Google Forms and docAppender for Data Management. If you missed it and want the slides, you can see them here. Bit.ly/HighDesertGoog… #EdTechTeam #IMPACTtheFutureHUSD

I think this is throwing the baby out with the bath water. We need to improve school safety but that could be better design, safety features, and cameras, guns + school= bad news

New: A Trump administration official said the idea of letting schools buy guns using federal grants originally came from a letter from Texas officials, not Betsy DeVos. Just posted @educationweek: blogs.edweek.org/edweek/campaig…

There are times when it is absolutely necessary for a school to exercise their own rights of due process to keep a student in the correct placement. #IDEA #SpecialEd #SPED

Looking for good online trainings about how to work with students with ADHD and keep them engaged beyond squeeze balls and stretch breaks. #SpecialEducation #ADHD

Just getting my new SpedTech twitter account put together. I thought my first post should encapsulate the philosophy I hope to pass on to my students and what I remind myself of often #myfirstTweet
