If you evangelize data democratization, you don’t get to be a roadblock when asked to tear down your ivory tower of data.

Yes, please continue to throw hardware at your application perf issues. Heaven forbid you’d actually refactor the crappy code.

Todays IT word of the day…Marketecture. An architectural concept introduced to subtly promote a product and/or platform.

Show people what Snowflake can do. First question…”Can we hook Microsoft Access to Snowflake?”

Just had a 10 year old trick or treater ask me if I wanted to hear a joke. I said sure. So here’s his joke. “What do peanut butter and a stripper have in common? They both spread for bread.” The jokes this year…whole different direction from last year.

Take a week of vacation, only 12,382 emails to get through. Must have been a slow week.

I feel a bit like Linus with his blanket when I get to hop back into SQL Server land.

It’s always a bit surreal when you have to interview candidates for your former job title.

I just started reading @InmonBill and @F_Puppini new book, The Unified Star Schema. What a fantastic read so far. I’m only a few chapters in, but its been very insightful. If you’re a database professional, do yourself a favor and get a copy of this book.
