I think the Mario movie is good but like... it still feels like your usual illumination movie. But when it comes to the Sonic movies and detective pikachu. They offer something a little more unique and interesting. Wreck it Ralph is still the best video game movie though.
It’s so hilarious to me that Mario fans can say with a straight face that their movies are way more faithful than the Sonic movies, and then it’s just the usual Illumination slop with Mario’s paint on it instead of Alvin and the Chipmunks slop with Sonic’s paint on it
