The joy of leadership comes from seeing others achieve more than they thought they were capable of.
Took a student I’m trying to get back into school to lunch today- listened to him explain how tough the past two months have been. As we left so he could go re-enroll, he tried to pay for my lunch. Kids…the best part of this work! #umatillastrong
I was honored to spend time this morning speaking at the @wasa_oly Incoming Superintendents Conference. We are better when we are learning and collaborating together - grateful for the leadership and planning of @SuitguyMike and @joel_aune
Some chilling A-level messaging here by Ukraine.
It’s clear to me that while we need some accountability to understand the impact of the pandemic on learning, what we don’t need is over testing & trying to test our way out of the pandemic at the expense of quality tier one instruction & educator / student health & wellbeing!
Thank you to all who serve and who have served! ♥️🤍💙🇺🇸
Make no mistake, we are all teachers and our children are watching and learning from us. Let our interactions and lessons today be filled w kindness, caring and warmth. Let’s commit to showing our children the very best in us today and everyday! #ourkidsmatter #itsthatimportant
Teachers are exhausted, teachers are hurting, teachers are surviving, teachers are keeping their heads above water! Shoutout to every single teacher hanging in there, turning up every single day to help kids! Cant say enough! We see you, we hear you & we got your back! Thank you!
As a leader you must: -Communicate the facts. -Commuicate the plan. -Communicate the challenges. -Communicate the expectations. -Communicate belief in people and the plan. -Communicate the desired outcome. -Communicate authentically. -Communicate the truth.
After multiple conversations with adults about building positive school culture today, I drove an injured football player to the hospital tonight and learned all about positive school culture. He’s going to be just fine (thankfully!) but I think everyone should learn from him…
Keep working hard BSD! @BandonSchoolDistrict #OneTeamOneMission #CommUnity #OurStripesRunDeep #Tigers
Remember, it's Bigger Than You. Most of the time whatever you're called to do isn't really about you. It's about those who you will serve. A message can't get shared unless there is a messenger willing to share it. They need you.
Reminder to my superintendent friend-colleagues as we embark on a new school year: when one of us follows you, follow back. This is how we build our network. And we need one another now more than ever. I followed six more today. @AASAHQ @wasa_oly
