Malo! We are having a great time in Tonga learning about the needs in hospitals and clinics alongside UC Biomed Club, reconnecting with Tonga High School with a new STEM kit for water quality testing, and of course seeing the sights!
Big news! Our club member Kiara has recently been selected by @EngrWorldHealth to join their Summer Institute in Uganda. She will be working with local biomedical technicians, students, and clinicians to repair medical equipment. **Now seeking sponsors to support Kiara! :)
Our @OJCollege group had the most beautiful welcome from our Polynesian whanau in Tonga...such an honour to visit the amazing Tonga High School to co-design a low cost heart-rate monitor from recycled plastics!
We have arrived in Tonga and just visited Viola Hospital to empathize with how they use heart-rate monitors. All the staff were absolutely fabulous, thank you so much!

Super excited that our BOT has accepted our proposal to travel to Tonga in November with four students & scientists to share our newly developed optical heart-rate monitor with @STEMforHealth @AucklandUni. Such an amazing experience for our students to collaborate in the Pacific!
