We want to remind everyone the current Ohio Burn Ban. This is not a fire dept rule, this is not a Sharon Twp rule, this is not a Medina County rule; this is a state of Ohio law (ORC 1503.18). In the months of Oct, Nov, Mar, Apr and May, you are cannot burn between 6a-6p.
Thursday night we took advantage of the break in the rain and nice weather and trained on utilizing dry hydrants. Like most rural communities, we do not have fire hydrants in many residential areas, so we utilize ‘fire ponds’ as a water source for fighting fires. #trainhard.

Thursday morning, April 3 - State Road is CLOSED due to flooding by the railroad tracks. It is impassible between Fixler and Sharon Copley Roads, so please avoid that area. #TurnAroundDontDrown

This afternoon we responded to a one vehicle crash in the 7000 block of Bonita Road. One patient was taken to an Akron hospital. #buckleup #STFD130

On Tuesday several department members attended a School Bus Extrication Training put on by Wadsworth Fire and EMS Department. Evolutions included evacuating ‘students’ from a smoke filled bus and cutting on the bus to create additional entry/exit points. #trainhard #stfd130
Early Sunday morning we responded to a single vehicle crash on Sharon Copley Road, near Legacy Lane. One patient was transported to the hospital. #buckleup #seatbeltssavelives #stfd130
Saturday afternoon we responded to a farm tractor rollover on State Road, north of Fixler Road. Fortunately no one was injured. #buckleup #seatbeltssavelives #stfd130
This afternoon we responded to a 3 vehicle collision at the intersection of State Road and Ridgewood Road. One patient was transported to an Akron hospital with non-life threatening injuries. #buckleup #seatbeltssavelives #stfd130
State Road is currently impassable and closed North of the railroad tracks (between Fixler Road and Sharon Copley Road). Bear Swamp Road is also currently impassable and closed between Fixler Road and Sharon Copley Road as well due to the rain and high water levels.

RIDGEWOOD RD, CH 60, in Sharon Township will be CLOSED Wednesday, March 20, 2024 through Thursday, March 21, 2024 between Beach Road and View Point Drive for the replacement of Culvert No. 22 which lies approximately 700 feet west of Beach Road.
