I don't play as many shmups as a should but one of the games I tried for my GOTY list was a shmup called BIRDCAGE and i am having a lot of fun with it even if i am godawful at the game even on normal. Extremely stylish with amazing visuals featuring metal gear inspirations
The purpose is that I'm trying to give more life to the game with this cinematics events. I don't want BioCrisis 2 to feel static, I want the game to feel alive. VAN GO BRUUUUU
I like how Neon Inferno blends run-and-gun and gallery shooter. One of the first games I saw with this idea was Dick Tracy (Mega Drive / Master System, Sega, 1991), and it really impressed me at the time!

12月1日はアーケード版のR-TYPE LEOの発売日でしたか。ネット情報なので真偽は分かりませんが。33年前 こちらはR-TYPE FINAL2に実装されたLEOのオマージュステージ。ここのボスが倒せなくて悩んでたらLEO機体の反射レーザーであっという間でした！やったぜ！

There's a recent trend from artists and game developers going around using GenAI or taking GenAI posts using Nintendo's IPs in order to express disgust towards the IPs themselves in an effort to lure Nintendo Lawyers to go after GenAI companies. Love the effort, even in defeat.

I have to say a lot of the "resurgence" in popularity of shmups is probably affected by the work done by @M2_game and more specifically @M2_STG team's ports. It is unlikely to happen, but if there was an opportunity to ask for Switch/PC ports of the missing games, it's this one.
