FASD Network Sask
@SaskFASDNetwork
The #FASD Network of Saskatchewan supports individuals with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, their families, and professionals in the field.
Change can be hard for people with FASD. Plan ahead. Give notice. Keep routines predictable. Small steps make big differences
For individuals with FASD, what seems like “won’t” is often “can’t.”
Trauma-informed care and FASD-informed practice go hand in hand. Both approaches recognize that challenging behaviors are often protective responses, not choices
FASD can affect memory, focus, processing, and self-regulation, all of which influence learning. With support and accommodations, individuals with FASD can succeed and thrive.
Our Training & Program Manager, Shana Mohr, participated in a panel at the 2025 Canada FASD Conference in Toronto, joining international professionals and advocates to share knowledge, strategies, and innovations that improve outcomes for people with FASD.
People often don't know what we mean by "FASD" but are familiar with the previous term "FAS".
Client-led support is about putting individuals and families in the driver’s seat of their own care. Instead of a “one-size-fits-all” approach, our role is to listen, adapt, and build strategies with our clients, not for them
Individuals with FASD may experience perseveration — getting stuck on a thought, action, or behavior. With the right strategies, we can help create calm, supportive environments that make a big difference
We'd like to invite caregivers and family members of individuals with FASD to join us in Sasktoon on Saturday, November 29th for a free session to learn more about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and how to best support our loved ones. 2025CaregiverRetreat.eventbrite.ca
Our next Family Connections Program sessions are starting October 21st. If you or a family you know would benefit from a program that focuses on family relationship building for youth with FASD, contact us at [email protected]

Every September 30th, we wear orange to honor the survivors of residential schools, remember those who never returned home, and recognize the ongoing impacts of these injustices. Orange Shirt Day is a reminder that Every Child Matters.
Dysmaturity is one of the most important things to understand when supporting somone with FASD. We must make sure we adjust expectations and strategies to meet their developmental abilities.
Confabulation happens when someone unconsciously fills in memory gaps with made-up or misinterpreted information, believing it to be true. It’s important to remember: this is not lying.
Don't miss your chance to join us in Yorkton for this free event! Registration closes on September 26th. Register online at: eventbrite.ca/e/cargiver-ret…
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us in Regina and Saskatoon to recognize International FASD Awareness Day! These gatherings are about more than just raising awareness, they’re about building understanding, reducing stigma, and showing support for individuals.
Today, people around the world unite to raise awareness of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and to honor the strength and resilience of those impacted by it. 💙 Together, we can break down stigma, support families, and work toward healthier futures.
While FASD is directly caused by alcohol exposure during pregnancy, research shows that fathers’ alcohol use also plays an important role.
