People who don’t know most councillors have publicly said they will be voting no 😂
5/5 We would like to thank everyone who got in touch with Us & @DaveQSocDemsDLR to voice their concerns. We have spoken directly to the DLR Engineer overseeing the project who confirms our alternative solution is possible & we hope the other Cllr's in @dlrcc will support it.
4/5 Our full submission can be read at the link below, it is broken out into two sections, the 1st (p4-11) is our direct response to the Part 8 plans, the 2nd (p12-18) is our alternative solution. drive.google.com/file/d/1nr6YUO…
3/5 We are also deeply frustrated at the process which has presented a binary choice to the members of the public, forcing people to choose between safe cycling infrastructure for children, or the privacy of those mourning their loved ones.
2/5 We fully support the Active Travel Routes in their entirety & our preference is for the reinstatement of the original 'one-way' solution, however our Alternative proposal achieves the goals of the routes & accommodates the various stakeholders involved in the process.
1/5 The consultation period for the Part 8 Planning in Deansgrange ended this week. @SocDemsDL along with @DaveQSocDemsDLR made our submission for an alternative solution that avoids running the Active Travel Route through the Cemetery & retains two-way traffic on the road.
Hundreds gather at Deansgrange Cemetery to protest cycle route plans.
Building infrastructure through a graveyard?? I support cycle infrastructure and want more cycle lanes to be built everywhere - Salthill Prom, Sandymount Strand, Deansgrange Road in this case - but making a cemetery a thru-way like this feels wrong. Well said @CallieCrawleySF
Very emotional and poignant candlelight vigil to help save Deansgrange Cemetery #DeansgrangeCemetery
The proposed plans would see a new entrance to the cemetery created and the partial removal of a surrounding wall, opening up access to commuters dublinlive.ie/news/dublin-ne…

Inappropriate place to be disturbed. Cemetery is a cemetery and deserves to be left alone.

Big turnout this evening in Deansgrange Cemetery, in opposition to Dunlaoghaire Rathdown council's plan to route a cycleway through the cemetery, lower the boundary wall and allow 24hr access. @CormacDevlin @CarrollJennifer @dlrcc
