3) Here’s from the website of the firm @aclukansas hired to bust their employee’s union: “Ogletree Deakins has extensive experience representing management in union representation…(for) clients confronted with every form of union organizing activity...
2) @UMediaGuild had no option but to file for an election with the National Labor Relations Board. The @aclukansas hired guns contested the status of who can be in a union (a common tactic to stall the process). In fact, in a 15-member organization, they claim 10 are management!
1) On June 12 @UMediaGuild notified @aclukansas their employees formed a union @ACLUKSUnited. @ACLU refused to recognize the union, refused card-check (a way to prove majority status using a trusted community leader) & hired a union-busting law firm. @newsguild @CWAUnion #1u
5) Such “representation” doesn’t come cheap. Union-Avoidance firms typically charge in the range of $700 an hour & I can’t help but wonder how the good people who donate to the @ACLU feel about their gifts being used to bust a union. #UnionBustingIsDisgusting @newsguild @CWAUnion
4) …From union card signing activity and traditional union campaigns involving NLRB elections, to campaigns involving various levels of neutrality…our attorneys have represented clients effectively, efficiently and successfully.” So they brag about busting unions. Nice. #1u

Hasten to add the employer never gets to see who signed a card & who didn't (so there's no retaliation). Only the third party neutral sees the signed cards. Great system. This is what unions & Obama TRIED to get into law w/ the Employee Free Choice Act. (EFCA) #ElectionsMatter
Determining whether or not a group of workers wanting to join a union is a majority is pretty straightforward (it's the corporations and the politicians they control who make it hard). Today UMG and the NFFWU had Rabbi Susan Talve of STL perform a card check. End result? #Union!
