Statement: @SaveWireless Highlights Spectrum Reserve Preserved; Will Continue to Fight for Wireless Competition - savewirelesschoice.com/uncategorized/…

The @FCC's proposed spectrum auction rules "leave open the possibility of gaming," writes @dh_oconnor savewirelesschoice.com/news/finger-on…

It’s clear the duopoly either don’t understand the reserve or are trying to hack the auction. @Tmobile responds: savewirelesschoice.com/?p=681

.@ATT & @Verizon continue to try to game the system & hack the spectrum auction, but @TMobile fires back: savewirelesschoice.com/?p=681

As always, competition is key! Otherwise consumers can't force the duopoly to think about them.

Important question! B/c what's the point of the reserve if it doesn't kick in like the @FCC intended? #SubCommTech

In the upcoming auction, the gaming opportunities are real. To avoid this, the simplest way to fix that is 1 reserve, 1 trigger.

"We have a chance to simplify into 1 trigger, 1 reserve. No hacks." -@chippickering

"Having at least 4 to a mkt, w/ the ability to challenge & compete, has been the greatest econ success story of last 20 yrs." @ChipPickering

"This is the last great hope for low band spectrum which has the best opport. to provide coverage for both urban/rural broadband capacity."

"This auction is too important to leave loopholes that could hurt consumers." -@WaxmanClimate

"Spectrum reserve a workable tool to promote competition and protect consumers." -@WaxmanClimate

"We were concerned that 2 carriers could dominate the auction & then dominate the industry afterwards." -@WaxmanClimate

AT&T & Verizon will try to "hack" the rules of the spectrum auction to limit access to the reserve. -@haroldfeld

The whole point of the reserve is to ensure that competitive carriers get spectrum. But Verizon/AT&T want to stop it from being triggered.

"Bidding behavior depends a lot on whether a reserve exists or not." @haroldfeld Reminder to @FCC to protect the reserve.

What's the spectrum reserve? A portion of the upcoming auction set aside for smaller carriers to bid on to protect wireless competition.
